What it is - Prostatic artery embolization (PAE) is a procedure where an interventional radiologist uses a catheter to deliver small particles that block the blood supply to the enlarged prostate. The procedure does not involve surgery and allows all the functions of prostate to be kept in place. After embolization the shrinkage of enlarged prostate occurs in 2-3 weeks time.
